The Cabinet Secretary, Fiona Hyslop announced important changes to both rates and business support. We have outlined the key points below.
The Scottish Government has confirmed plans to:
- Broaden eligibility for the small business retail, hospitality & leisure grant to include businesses that occupy multiple premises with a cumulative value in excess of £51,000
- Extend this to businesses occupying premises where the landlord is the ratepayer for example shared office spaces or industrial units and business incubators
- Examine options to extend support to businesses operating without a bank account, who are currently excluded from accessing the Hardship Fund
